(1)What is BSF?

Long form of BSF is Border Security Force. It is a one of the three Border Guarding Forces (BGS) of India, This force guard China, Pakistan and Bangladesh border .The motto of BSFs is (DUTY UNTO DEATH) .BSF is formed on 1 December, 1965.

When BSF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, Assam Rifles and the elite National Security Guard (NSG) are constitute the CAPF. CAPF, BSF, ITBP and SSB are border guarding organization. BSF is various active roles during an outbreak of war.BSF is currently stands as the world’s largest border guarding force BSF has been termed as the first line of defense of Indian Territories. BSFs Headquarters in New Delhi, India and minister responsible is Amit Shah, Minister of home affairs The Agency executive of BSFs is Rakesh Asthana he is director general. You can join BSF as an Assistant Commandant, Sub-Inspector (SI) and Constable.

(3)Eligibility Criteria

(A)Education qualification Criteria

All graduate student can apply BE/B Tech, B Sc, BA, BBA, BCA all degree holders can apply. Degrees in any stream are eligible with any discipline from recognized university or equivalent must be required. (Candidates Age must be 20 to 25 years.)

170 cms and weight is measured according to height

 

 

 

Height of female candidates is 157cms and weigh is measured according to height

Chest Size

 

The chest requirement for males of this post is 80 to 85 cms for all categories candidates

 

 

The chest requirement for women of this post is not Applicable

 

 

Hilly areas candidates

 

 

Height required for candidates belonging to hilly areas is 165 and 155cms of male and female. (Garhwal, kumaon, HP, Leh and Ladhak, Kashmir Valley)

 

 

The Candidates of hilly areas chest is 80 to 85cms

 

Schedule tribe candidates

Height eligible for candidates belong to schedule cast is 162.5 cms and 155 male. 154 cms to female candidates

 

The candidates of schedule cast chest is 77 to 82

 

(C) Medical Standard

The distant vision should be 6/6 or 6/9 for both the eyes without wearing glasses.

 

(4)How to Selection in BSF

There are three compulsory stages in selection process

Stage 1: Written Examination

Stage 2: Physical standard Test (PET) or Physical Endurance Test (PET)

Stage 3: Medical Examination and Merit List

 

Stage 1: Written Examination

Selection Procedure starts with written examination. Written exam is divided into two categories.

Paper 1

a)There is multiple choice Question based paper.

 
 
b)The paper is total 200 marks and 200 questions.

 c)There is time duration of paper is 2 hours.
 
    

    d)Paper one is divided into four sections, each carrying 50 questions of 50 marks.

Paper 2

   a)There is questions will be subjective type means you have to write by using pen.

 

      b) The paper is of total 200 marks.

 

     c)   There is time duration of paper is 2 hours.

 

 

 

 

Candidates can give exam in any format I.e Hindi and English and most important point is there is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answers. So candidates should keep this thing in mind while giving examination.

 

Stage 2: Physical Standard Test (PST) OR Physical Endurance Test (PET)

When qualifying in written examination successfully. Candidates first go through physical standard and physical standard test it’s a vice-versa test it doesn’t any marks but it’s important because BSFs want mentally and physically fit candidates. So ready to all sages.

What is in PST/PET?

1.  Race 2. Long Jump 3.Shoutputs

 

1. Race both male and Female Candidates.

 

Male Candidates

 


1.100 meter race in 16 second.

2.1.6 km race in 6.5 minutes

 

Female Candidates

1.100 meter in 18 seconds.

 2.  800 meters race in 4 minutes

 

2. Long Jump both Male and Female Candidates.

 

 

Male Candidates


1.3.65 Meters long jump in 3 chances.


2.1.2 meter high jumps in 3 chances.

 

 Female Candidates

1.2.7 meters (9 feet) long jump in 3 chances.

2.0.9 meters (3 feet) high jump in 3 chances.

 

 

3.  Shot-puts just for male Candidates

 

Male Candidates

 

4.5 meters shot-put (16 ibs) in 3 chances.

 

 

Stage3. Medical Exam and Merit List

 

When this test check your body candidates must satisfy the eye vision as mention in medical standard and should be in healthy body and mental health After medical test.

Merit list is drawn which includes the marks of written exam and final selection will be made as per the merit list.

 

5. Salary Structure and Promotion of BSF Sub-Inspector

1. Salary

The grade pay for the post of SI in border security force is

Rs. 4200

 

The pay band is

 

PB-2 (Rs.9300-34800)

 

In hand Salary

 

Rs. 35000

 

 

2. Promotion and Career

 

The scope of promotion depends on the merits of the candidates and own performance.

Internal tests are conducted for promotion.

The first promotion from as SI to the rank or an Inspector takes about 3 years, provided an unblemished service record and 2 years of command of platoon in a service coy.
